I want to get you better as fast as possible.
That’s why I synthesize brain-body interventions to get you out of the stuck cycles of being:
Exhausted (“I’m so tired of this”)
Fed up (“This is NOT what I wanted my life to be like!”)
Frustrated (“Why can’t I get anything to change?”)
Overwhelmed (“I’m so drained and depressed”)
Spinning your wheels (“Why can’t I make sense of this?”)
Looping anxious thoughts (“It’s getting hard to breathe…”)
Lashing out at the people you love (“Why can’t I stop reacting!?”)
Withdrawing from connection (“Relationships feel too risky”)
Numbing apathy or depression (“Its better not to feel…”)
It’s exhausting keeping this up. Its frustrating to know exactly what you want but it’s always out of reach, no matter how hard you try.
I’m really good at seeing that big, complex picture of what’s going on and finding the linchpin – that one piece that needs to get shifted to finally get you unstuck and into the life you’ve really wanted to live.
A few things you should know about me…
I’m a softie
I’ve gone through an abundant share of crud in my own life, so I know what pain, suffering, and major loss feels like
But I’m also a “taking names and numbers” kind of person
I don’t want you to get stuck in the crud – lets get you better as fast as sustainably possible.
Nothing’s off the table
There is no “forbidden” topic – so if you want to talk about your sexuality, your seething hatred, or that you find the color of my walls grotesque, you’re welcome.
But you don’t have to say what you don’t want to
I will never require you to disclose something that you are not comfortable sharing. The practices I use don’t require you to describe in detail your trauma or your deepest darkest secrets.
I’ve chosen the approaches (modalities) that I use really carefully – they have to be thoroughly grounded in research, but they also have to really work in really people’s lives…for the long-term (no more of this “I felt better for a little while but then my symptoms came back in a new flavor” kind of stuff).
Everything that I use is built upon years of trauma-informed study, radical body acceptance, deep compassion, and a commitment to getting you to the best version of your life.
And if my blunt candor leaves you wondering if I’m even a trained professional, let me name-drop a bit of the work that I’ve put in to get where I am:
Intensive Trauma Treatment Training with Bessel van der Kolk
Complex Trauma Certification Training Level I & II (CCTP/CCTP II) with Janina Fisher
IFS Immersion: Integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) Across Clinical Applications with Frank Anderson
TRT (Teaching Recovery Techniques) trained through the Children of War Foundation
Spiritual Abuse Assessment and Recovery Research Capstone
Authorized BrainPaint Neurofeedback Provider
Masters in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy
Oh, and also…
I LOVE my job.
